Successful SAPS operation

(Web only) SAPS found dagga and nyaope on a suspect during a crime prevention operation held in the CBD on Monday.

An Ekurhuleni East SAPS crime prevention operation saw one man being arrested for possession of drugs.

Capt Johannes Ramphora, SAPS spokesperson, says the suspect was arrested after they found dagga and nyaope in his possession.

The main purpose of the operation was to curb armed and business robberies, as well as hijackings.

“We conducted a stop-and-search operation when the suspect was arrested,” says Ramphora.

The suspect remained at the police cells until his first court appearance.
