Second rugby team league winners

Nathan du Toit, Laerskool Jan van Riebeeck second team captain and lock, reaches for the ball in the line out in their match against Laerskool Randfontein. Jannies won the game 17-0.

Schools from the Pretoria, Witwatersrand and Vereeniging region are part of this event which was hosted by Laerskool Jan van Riebeeck.

During the course of the morning the semi finals were played to determine which teams would go through to the finals played in the afternoon.

All Laerskool Jan van Riebeeck teams won their matches.

The second team won their first game against Laerskool Randfontein with a 17-0 score and went through to the finals.

In their last game against Laerskool President Steyn the team managed to narrowly win the game 5-0.

Nathan du Toit (12), captain of the second team says it feels good to be part of the winning team and he is grateful for the team spirit and support of the rest of his team during all their matches.

The first team from Laerskool Jan van Riebeeck also won all its games, however, the team ended ninth on the log of the PWV series.
