A businessman and his colleague were robbed in Bakerton around 7am on Friday.
The owner and his assistant were busy opening their shop in First Avenue when they were approached by two men armed with knives and wearing balaclavas.
Capt Johannes Ramphora, spokesperson for the Springs police, says the suspects took the owner and his assistant to the back room of the shop where they tied them with cable ties.
“When it was quiet the assistant went for help,” says Ramphora.
The suspects got away with R7 000 in cash as well as a cellphone.
No injuries were reported and a case of business robbery is being investigated.
