A man was murdered behind the Springs Rugby Stadium between Saturday night and Sunday morning, Springs Police confirmed on Monday.
Capt Johannes Ramphora says a man walking past the stadium on Saturday saw a bakkie parked facing the stadium.
“At 5.30am on Sunday, he passed the area again and saw the bakkie still standing there, but that it was facing in a different direction,” he says.
The man called security who then called the police.
“They went to check the vehicle and found a dead body in the back of the bakkie.”
The body was covered with a blanket and a plastic cover at the back to stop the blood from dripping out of the vehicle.
