Chouglay was also very upset with the response time of the police, the ambulance services and Netcare 911.

“I am very disappointed with the service providers. It took them almost an hour to arrive on the scene.

“The only way we could get an Ekurhuleni ambulance was to phone a friend who works there and ask them to call the ambulance for us,” says Chouglay.

Netcare 911 spokesperson Nicholas Dollman says they are still investigating the matter.

The SAPS and the metro failed to respond in time for publication.
