Two men arrested in First Street

Two men were arrested for shoplifting in First Street.

The pair, between the ages of 40 and 61, robbed a fellow customer inside the shop and fled on foot.

Cash in transit guards inside the shop noticed what had happened and gave chase.

The suspects were caught on the corner of Plantation and Diesel roads and the money was recovered.

Springs police spokesperson, Captain Johannes Ramphora says, “We have since found out that the suspects are from Soweto and one actually specialises in shoplifting.”
